Great flat car nice detail.

Jason D. Reece says...

Not just great - absolutley superb! These cars build into beautifully detailed kits. Quite frankly if you love building kits, these are a perfect addition to any fleet.

What caught my eye was the NC&StL decal, so I have purchased at least 6 of these flats; just a fantastic kit to assemble...thanks Don!!

Ed Riddle says...

I agree with y'all...super kit. Not trusting my talents at making the floor look like wood, I glued on scale 2 x 12 "lumber" strips and stained floor with ink/alcohol wash & weathering powders. I built two cars to haul an Army WWII tank and an M36 "tank killer" for my 1945-55 era layout. ACL decals.

I built the first one of these out of curiousity, the next three out of sheer satisfaction with the easy of assembly and the great results. The directions are superb and the results terrific. I would recommend this model to any model railroader who wants good detail at an affordable price.

Very nice flat car. Prototypical for the era and used till they were no longer repairable. Great rivets But follow the directions closely and you'll find it a great addition to your collection. The only two problems were with one the instructions under heading number 2 is the bolters part B-4. There should include a reference to look at the picture of the under frames pipe runs, as the bolters notches should be opposites in their placement as you could end up reversing them and need to drill out the run. The second was the included weight which I replace with mold able lead to bring it up to NMRA standards as I intend to run it on a club layout and can derail. Or the flat car load can be weighted instead. I enjoyed building both of these kits.
